The Working Principle Of Load Bank Cables

Power Transmission Function: Acting as a conductor, the cable conveys the electrical energy output by the power source under test to the power resistor network housed within the load bank.

Energy Conversion Support: While the load bank converts electrical energy into thermal energy via its resistive elements, the cable serves solely as a transmission medium during this process and does not participate in the energy conversion itself.

Thermal Management Coordination: Given that the load bank may generate heat outputs reaching millions of BTUs per hour under full-load conditions, the cable must possess a sufficient cross-sectional area and insulation rating to withstand the temperature rise associated with high current flow, thereby preventing damage caused by overheating.

Safety Protection Mechanism: The cable typically operates in conjunction with the load bank's control circuitry; should a cooling system failure (such as a blower malfunction) result in insufficient airflow, an air-flow switch will interrupt the power supply to prevent both the cable and the load bank from overheating.
